TINDER REVEALS THAT AGE IS JUST A NUMBER FOR SINGLETONS THIS SUMMER

In 2022, it’s time we agree that when it comes to dating, age is nothing but a number. And Tinder, the world’s most popular app for meeting new people, can confirm this. In the past month nearly half (45%) of female Tinder members globally* have matched with a younger man in the past month.

Joining Kim K and Britney Spears in their quest for a SO (significant other) and even some of the Love Islanders this year, Tinder members have revealed they are seeking a youthful match as mentions of ‘younger man’ have increased by 70%.**

So whether you’re a younger guy looking to be the next Pete Davidson, or a woman interested in meeting your very own Aitch - for a relationship or simply something low-key - Tinder is the place to be.

From interesting bios, to exploring your options, Tinder is spilling the tea on tips to ignoring the age gap stigmas and finding your OTP (one true pairing)…

  • Bio is everything - Be sure to keep your bio in check. Turns out that Tinder members update their bios nearly 3x as often as they did pre-pandemic to let other members know what they’re looking for, in a companion.

  • 3/5/11 rule - Make your profile fun and easy to read with at least 3 Passions / Interests - 5 pictures / videos - and include at least 11 words in your bio. A great way to give the other person a prompt for starting the conversation.

  • Keep your options open - Tinder members reveal that when dating someone they’re keen to embrace differences, retain their own independence and learn something new from their match.

  • Stay true to yourself - How often has your match looked great “on paper”? Keep an open mind when dating people that veer off your usual ‘type’. Stay open, honest when dating online and share what you’re looking for in a potential partner online.

  • Digital first, IRL second - Before meeting in IRL, why not video chat first. Take a moment to get to know each other before you meet your mature Italian snack or lover boy for an in person date.
